Introducing myself after 6 weeks :)

Hi, after 6 weeks of using mfp, I am finally introducing myself! I have been "trolling" the boards and looking at everyone's success stories and I am excited to someday share mine on here. I started out at 185 lbs. and my goal is to get down to 145 maybe more. My weight has always been an issue. The lowest I have ever been was in my early 20s at 138lbs. I met my husband, had 2 kiddos and everything went downhill afterwards. I am also a stress eater with a mother who has early onset alzheimers :/. I have finally decided that enough is enough and that life is too short not to feel happy with myself. So here I am still at the beginning stages of my journey but totally committed to making this work once and for all!

Hey Lindsay, welcome to MFP and congratulations on already shedding 11 lbs. toward your goal. It seems you have learned the benefit of logging and realizing the calories of the food we eat. One recommendation I would make is to find some other friends on here similar to you. It helps to know others are doing the same thing and you can encourage and support each other. Best of luck and please post more updates as you get even closer to your goal!

Welcome! Please find some folks with similar interests and send them a friend request right away. This may be of significant help to you. The open community boards can sometimes go the wrong direction...the use of a keyboard seems to bring out oddness in some people...but for the most part you can find supportive and nice folks to help you on your way here. MFP is a great tool that is enhanced when you find a good flock to fly with. It has certainly helped me. FR to some folks and provide support when they accept. You will get support doubled in return. Good luck on the journey!

Welcome! You've done well over the last 6 months.

I have two kids, and sadly, lost my dad in October and he had Alzheimers. Its a very rough disease. We were lucky that he still knew us up to the end. It was not early onset though.

I'm glad you're here for love and support
