Tell me I'm not the only one!

That gets a little grossed out... ok... more then a little... when people don't clean stuff/after themselves at the gym? Had a guy on a treadmill in front of me dripping like a faucet that didn't wipe down (gym provides AMPLE spray bottles and towels in MANY Locations, one of which was next to him and another behind me) that moved to v-crunch and soaked it, didn't wipe that and then went up to circuit. My treadmill was next to v-crunch so was pretty hard not to notice the 5 people use it and no one wipe it down while I was there.

Has me tempted to be cleaning stuff Before and After! I don't know if it's just previous gym experiences where they were either anal about cleanliness and such (considering a good part of that was in the military) or if folks now are just really lax. Seems to be a gym rule easily broken at the new gym so what's everyone else's standpoint??

Yuk, I agree, everyone should clean every piece of equipment after use, every time. As you put it, I "sweat buckets" so I take my own towel to the gym to wipe down.
This is one reason I prefer to run not lift.

You are definitely not the only one . . . people not wiping down their equipment at the gym is one of my biggest pet peeves! I see it all the time at my gym. I wipe down whatever I'm using before and after it . . . I don't want to touch other people's gross sweat and I don't want to get sick either!

This, and people not putting weights away/removing their plates from the barbells.
I always want to go up to them and say: 'Are you finished with the squat rack? Well then why the hell didn't you take the plates off?! Is it my job to do it for you, eh?! Too special to do it yourself, are you?! You lazy, selfish...'

Odd... When people have the energy to work out, but not the energy to clean up afterwards? Guess it's too easy for them, if I was the owner I would drag them back to clean up their mess!

Ok I feel better lol. Friend of mine went to hers today and actually had someone sneeze on her, say nothing, and still not clean their area so I guess it's more common. yuk. Going to just adopt the clean it before and after routine now so I feel better. Sad but I'd rather do that then get sick!

Blegh...if I noticed people regularly not wiping down equipment after use, I'd sure as heck wipe down before and after I used it!

I don't sweat much, but I wipe everything down because it's good etiquette. However, I rarely see anyone else at the gym I go to wiping stuff down. Yeah, it's gross.
