For those of you who don't know what a 'buffalo hump' is, it's a small lump of fat on the back of your neck(below bottom of your neck/upper back region. between shoulders).

I didn't have this before weight gain but after 80+ lbs of weight gain, I have a buffalo hump. Did all kinds of blood tests and it looks like it's just from genetics and/or from rugby(stress on neck).

I lost about 25 - 30 lbs now and it shrank to about 1/2 the size it was but the lump is still visible.

I decided to get it removed by liposuction in mid January.

Was wondering if anybody had this procedure done or have similar problems with buffalo humps?

Also, if you have had it done, when were you able to return to exercise(cardio, weight lifting etc)?

Any input/advice/story would help!

Did some research and spoke to the doctor and it seems to be a very simple procedure with partial anasthesia. small incision to insert the tube. very safe and takes max 1-2 hours, maybe even less.

I'm getting it done in south korea(seoul) by a well known surgeon and he doesn't know when I can return to weight lifting exercises... this is because almost no south korean adults lift weights on a regular basis.

Don't want to take a week to two off and if I have to, I would probably move back the surgery date or cancel it all together.

    Any inputs?

(even if I lose 30-40 lbs more, the little 'hump' would still be on the back of my neck unless removed by surgery. Just a bit smaller)
