I'd like your opinion on my workout routine

Hi there!!

I've been trying to move a lot more lately and came up with a workout routine that I can stick to apparently. But I don't know what it's worth.

On Monday, Wednesday, Friday I do Bret Contreras's Strong Curves program, followed by Jillian Michaels 30DS.
That's about one hour and a half.
On Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, I walk for about 30-40 minutes at brisk pace and do nothing on Sunday.

I'm 32, 5.3 feet, 156lbs, (down from 198...) and trying to lose fat before I gain muscles. And eat at a 20% deficit from TDEE.

What do you think about this? Does this seem efficient?

Thank you for reading and any comment.

Unfortunately I can't comment on your Mon, Wed, Fri routine too much because I don't know anything about those two programs. Length wise it sounds just fine (wish I could spare 90 minutes  ). The little reviews I found online sound like you are also doing a bit of strength training with this which is awesome!

On your Tue, Thur, Sat days, the walking is excellent. That is a great amount of time to help burn extra calories.

Having a rest day is awesome! Many time my patients and athletes workout 7 days a week causing them to suffer from burnout or even worse overuse injuries that can sideline them for weeks.

As I'm sure the videos say, make sure you stretch post workout and get a good dynamic warmup prior to exercise. Shoot me a message if you have any specific questions!

    Hope that helps!

    Hi,
The Bret Contreras program is very good and lots of folk get great results from it.

You could perhaps increase your intensity, add in some sprint training to the walking sessions.

Bear in mind, muscle uses more calories than fat. Don't think of separating them into two different objectives either. Increasing muscle will help burn more fat.

You're 20% below TDEE, so how many kcal do you consume and what's your macro ratio?

    Well done so far.

I eat about 1700 calories a day. And I don't really pay attention to macros. Except for protein. About 150 gram per day.
