Hi,

I feel like I'm in one of those circle therapy groups where you stand up and tell everyone your name and your addiction. Mine is chocolate but that's besides the point.

A little bit about me, I'm a 31 yo mother of one. Last year I lost 15 pounds and started a new life style. Around the holidays I gained the obligatory 5 lbs but my plan is to start fresh this year. I work at a desk job so three years ago I decided to join a gym for a number of reasons, but mainly it was so that when my husband asked if all I did today was sit, I could answer back...nunh-uh, i went to the gym too. Typically, I work out at least 4 times a week and that's because I'm addicted to the gym. Weird, yes, but if I didn't I think I would have high blood pressure at this point in my life. I currently weigh 161.5 so I have 26 lbs left to meet my goal. I got one of those weight watcher scales for Christmas (I think someone was trying to send me a message) so I'm not sure how happy I feel to know my exact weight down to the tenth of a lb. I used to have one of those old-time scales where you could adjust the hand if it didn't fall exactly on zero. That scale was always good to me but this new scale doesn't seem to like me much, it's always very direct and factual, no adjustments needed...pfft....see if I ever handle it with care when cleaning the bathroom floor. I'm mainly here to get back on track with my eating. I've kept a diary before and it helped me maintain good eating habits. It's just so hard to maintain those eating habits when someone is pushing a turkey in your face.

So with that, I wish those of you who may or may not be in the same boat as me but have similar goals(i.e. to ultimately be healthier) a good start for the New Year and may we all accomplish at least one life goal this year!

Cheers,
Holly

  • I totally put 4 times a day....whoohoo, what was I smoking? LOL. I fixed it to 4 times a week in case any of you read that already and were scratching your head. I love going to the gym but there's not enough time in my day to go that much. :)
