^ Read through this. All you need is to make sure you're logging 100% and eating at a moderate deficit and you will see results. Exercise is great for health and can help in weight loss but main focus will be diet. I've lost all my weight eating the same things I used to, just less of it. I am more mindful now of finding nutrient dense foods for health but I still enjoy all the things I use to.
As far as exercises, try different things. It took me awhile to find things I truly enjoy. My passion is weight lifting. If you enjoy it, you're more likely to stick to it. Work up to it, if you fatigue easy. Maybe challenge yourself to a distance or time, each day you plan exercise. Little things count. I started out just dancing in my living roomgood luck :flowerforyou:

Fat loss is going to come from diet. So focus on eating clean, getting good nutrition with a moderate deficit in calories.
Now, if your goal is overall fitness, then developing an exercise program that you can stick to is also important. Since you are starting from scratch, I'd recommend a low intensity cardio (walking, biking, elliptical) three to four times per week. I'd also recommend strength training (body weight squats, dead lifts, bench press, bar rows, and standing overhead press). Start with very low weights, learn the form, and add weight as you build up. Do strength training two to three times per week (at least 48 hours between sessions).
Once you've gotten into your weight loss, fitness gains, you should consider adding HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) into your program in place of one or two of your low intensity cardio sessions.

A great place to begin for exercise.....Leslie Sansone Walk at Home
These are DVDs you can do at your own pace. There is no choreography to "keep pace" with. Most of the moves are low impact....or easily modified. Her newer DVDs are chaptered so you can do as much or as little as you have time for.
This is a favorite of mine: http://www.collagevideo.com/workout-video/leslie-sansones-ultimate-5-day-walk-plan-6155
It is 5 miles (programable) & has 4 brief strength training & 1 stretch segment. This gives you a nice intro to strength training.
A youtube freebie (authorized) .....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n5SeMKN8Bus
This is by Jessica Smith ......same type of workout. She made several workouts especially for YouTube.0 -
Well first of all, you don't have to love it lol I suspect you will in time, but so many people get started and expect to end up like someone in a Nike commercial who loves to run... I hate running lol I've done it, and done it well, but I did it to accomplish it, not because I thought it was ever particuarly enjoyable.
Whatever you decide to do, just keep that in mind so you don't get down on yourself. Also, I would recommend you buy and read New Rules of Lifting for Women. It's an excellent book, focusing only on the fundamentals and some myth busting, so that you know what you're doing. Again, whether or not you decide to lift weights, it will help you tremendously to read the information in that book.0
