How do you deal with days when you're feeling down..

About lack of weight loss or just your entire journey? I don't know, today I'm feel down. I think it's because I'm so anxious that I get upset when I don't see the scale move. It's been 2 weeks since I started working out and I've made a drastic change I think. I've been drinking 8 cups of water, counting my calories, I've exercised, I've just been being a lot more active. When I first tried losing weight it seemed I saw the weight melt off fast. Now that I'm just getting back into the losing weight I thought it would be the same. I haven't gained but I haven't lost either and I'm constantly worrying about if I'm doing something wrong or if I'm not exercising enough.
Any help or advice?

Part of long term success is accepting that changes don't happen as fast as we'd like. I agree that you should take measurements and don't weigh yourself too often if it bothers you. You can also take pictures to monitor your progress. You know pictures don't lie. Just keep doing what you're doing and try to focus on something else. What you're doing will work - you just need to give it time. Don't give up. Don't allow yourself to get discouraged. Be determined and keep going. You'll get there.0

I just keep going. Been feeling down in general. And honestly I just think winter and the holidays are a pain in the *kitten* time for losing weight.0

I just acknowledge that its a bad moment and that it will pass. Its part of the process, but to have faith in the work that you are doing0

i do my workout out and eat what i was going to eat anyway. usually my pity parties only last half a day at most, after that my inner "suck it up and get it done, princess!" kicks in and i'm back at it the next day. anyway, this is why it's a good idea to have mini goals along the way. at least then you can look back to the mini goals you were able to make and feel good about those :drinker:If you're feeling lonely, just remember that there are trillions of tiny creatures living on & in your body thinking you're their universe.0

This doesn't necessarily help so early in the process, but I love looking at my MFP weight loss chart. I weigh in every day, so I can observe patterns. I've learned that during the first two weeks of each month, my weight flatlines or even bounces up a bit. Then in the last two weeks of a month, I have a really fun drop. So when I'm in the middle of no progress, I can look at the chart and look forward to the upcoming drop. It's been really consistent so far (just since July), and it helps me get through the tougher days.
My only true goal I've had since starting MFP has been to remain consistent with this. I didn't set an end-of-year weight loss goal or anything like that. I decided that as long as I was being consistent and completely diligent with my logging, I knew that things would be moving in the right direction. So no matter what any given day or week looks like on the scale or even in the way my clothes fit, if I know I've been consistently good, I know good things are around the corner.

This might sound harsh, but it's not meant to be.
It's been two weeks. If you're already having a hard time dealing, you don't want it bad enough, or you're not ready to change. I plateaued for about six months this year while I dealt with life issues. Not once did I truly consider just giving up...that's not an option anymore. If you can't handle sticking with it for two weeks, what about 100 days from now? 500 days from now? What about the last ten pounds that just trickle off?
I'm not saying that this is easy, because it's not. But you have to accept you're doing things right, and at least you're not gaining. There are so many things that can disguise weight loss....excess sodium, hormones, water weight from muscle repair, etc etc. Give it a good 4-6 weeks of honest try before even considering changing what you're doing...your body will catch up eventually.0 -
Hey I just wanted post and say you gotta hang in there. Think of this as a lifestyle not something temporary. Also, maybe look at changing things up to, maybe like some strength training, yoga, and swimming. Monotony really sucks and scales are just numbers. Try an focus on the way you feel and turn that positive energy to your advantage. This is not gonna be easy....fight the good fight over time. Our bodies are constantly changing.0
