Making the Cut (fast vs slow oxidizers)

So I love me some Jillian Michaels DVDs and while in the thrift store this weekend I noticed her book Making the Cut for like 50 cents, so I picked it up (If nothing else for the recipes and workout pictures in it).
In it you take a little quiz about how food makes you feel and it tells you if you are a fast or slow oxidizer. It seems like junk science to me.
Apparently I am a "slow oxidizer" which according to the book means I should eat 60% carbs (good ones) and 25% Protein and 15% fat. My proteins should be "Low-Purine Proteins"
Seems like broscience to me.
Looking for some opinions, the last threads about this seem really old and not many people chimed in.

I thinks it is just another scheme to sell books and make money. The only thing that sounds accurate is sticking to good carbs ( of course the low purine protein is a good idea if you have gout ;) ).

I had never even heard of low purine proteins.

    There's a reason for that.

15% fat is ridiculous, especially for someone losing weight. Way too low. 25% protein is probably way too low as well.

I read that book as well. I wasn't impressed with anything she said about nutrition. IIRC she advised eating at one's BMR during her program. Yikes! :noway:

Yeah I think I will just use the book for some new ideas for recipes. Which was my intention to begin with.
