fitbit zip question

I just now synced my fitbit to MFP and got it hooked up. I noticed that it says I have burned 1050 cals. I just set up the damn thing like minutes ago. Does anyone know why that happened? Also, I gather from reading older forum posts that you should track everything in MFP and just let the zip add in your exercise through out the day right??

It assumes you have been breathing since midnight last night. That 1050 calories should be your BMR for the number of hours that have passed today. If you haven't had it on, it assumes you've had no activity yet.
I do all my logging on MFP and let the Fitbit give me an adjustment for activity. The only exercise I log is anything not step-based, or with a higher calorie burn than walking (e.g. on an incline or carrying weight).0
