Ready for a new, healthy me!

Hi everyone!

I've had MFP for a few years now but this is the first time I'm really sticking to it and making sure I log EVERYTHING. Three years ago I wasn't doing much exercising or watching what I ate. I just maintained my weight. After a surgery in January of 2012 I was stuck to a couch for a few months recovering, not able to lift for a few weeks. I also had negative side effects with medication and discovered I have pre-diabetes Since then I have tried a few times to get the weight off, but discouragement and no change on the scale discouraged me both times after about six months. This time I'm really putting my all into it, adding a personal trainer in as well. Diabetes runs ramped in my family and I cannot and will not let myself get to that point. Food is my drug so I'm hoping that I can get healthy and happy. This community seems wonderful and I hope I can get some tips and encouragement, as I'm sure I'll need it!
