Hey all! I am not runner, but I am trying to be. I bought a pair of Nike Flex back in September. I believe I have gone over 300 miles in them so it is time for new shoes. Last time I just went to Khols. This time I would like to get help picking the right shoe. Where do you guys suggest I go? I live in a fairly good size Metro area...so we have most franchise places like ****s, Famous Footwear, FinishLine, Scheels, etc.

When I say "I run"--that means right now im doing about 4.8 miles in 60 min. I run for one min and walk for a minute and a half. I do that for 60 min. I obviously want to get to the point where I run straight thru.

So, suggestion of places to shop and suggestion of brands would be great!!!

I am in Canada but when I decided to make sure my running shoe was right for me I got fitted at the Running Room. You are in no way obligated to buy shoes from them, but they actually cost the same as the big sports stores like Sport Chek.

Again, as I am not in USA I don't know if we have similar stores, but if you don't have a Running Room I would look for something similar. Also any sports store that sells runners in brand names should be just fine.

I prefer Asiscs because that is what I purchased first and honestly just keep replacing the same ones. I got thru them in about 8 months and at $130 (not on sale) I don't find it that bad.

I still am in awe that I am actually wearing out running shoes, me and my new life hehe.
    Good luck.

ETA: if you have wide feet like me you might find only some brands will work for you. But Asiscs, Nike, Adidas, Under Armour are all great shoes (haha I am sure I am forgetting another big name)
