Sure I believe in equality between men and women; however, is this the 'right' way to throw women in with the men when every sports and activities in the world, including the Olympics is seperated between men and women?
If women are allowed to join the navy seals and special ops, shouldn't all other sports break down the bar and make it uisex?
What say you?

In sports it's about competition. And man has all the advantage over women, genetically, when it comes to strength, speed, endurance, etc and that's a fact. There is huge difference. Go and look up world records in different sports and you will clearly see that performance for women are lower. That's why it is divided in men and women. If we would throw everybody at same basket in sports women will not not stand a chance. They would be just place holders for titles until men comes. You can train as hard as you want and hold the first place until a men, who trains just as hard, comes and takes it from you simply cos he is genetically better. Doesn't sounds fair to me.
In military on other hand it's not about competition. So small genetic disadvantages does not matter. Even if you are not as strong or fast as others it's not about you, it's about you all as a group. What meters is being strong physically and mentally the most importantly. And women can be able to do impressive things just like man physically. They don't have genetics to be better, considering that both of them would train just as hard, but that doesn't mean they can't be very close to it.
So I thing comparing those two is kinda silly.0 -

I believe men and woman have a place in military life however, I also feel they should be segregated for their own good. Relationships can intefere with logical decision making and, like it or not, chivalry is still alive and kicking and I wouldn't have wanted my man (served 27yrs in Tank Rgt) to have put himself at additional risk to be a 'gentleman' towards a female and I think, in combat situations, this is very likely. If he saw a man struggling, he'd have told him to 'man up' but if it was a woman, he'd help. He's hard-wired that way.
Also, there are just some things women are not suited to. We are actually emotionally more reactive, not designed by nature to be 'warriors' and though I am a fiercely independent woman who relies on her man for nothing at all beyond emotional support, I will also admit I am too emotional for combat. I would suffer very severely for taking a life, justified or not.
I find it hard to comprehend that the big teddy bear of a man that I am married to, the guy who calls me silly pet names, buys me cute cuddlies for my birthday, plays silly buggers with the kids, despite them being almost men themselves, is actually a killer. He has taken life in the line of duty and that is beyond me.....I don't like to think about it and I could not do it myself.
Then there are the practicalities. There were times my husband was locked down, inside a tank, with three other men, with barely enough room to move, in incredibly hot conditions with not the time or the water rations for washing, having to do any toileting in the presence of others, into a bag. They went days without proper washing of body or clothes, had to remain in the same clothes, including underwear, for days.
I shall not go into details but if you put women in the same situation, they and the tank would smell damned awful in short time, god knows what would happen if anyone was having their monthlies, especially if they ended up 'in sinc' as is often the case. My hubby ended up with thrush, footrot and jock itch from being in combat situation....the female equivalents would set in much sooner and would be much worse as their bodies are a far more fertile breeding ground for such things if not clean!
I can well imagine the backlash I will get from all the strong, assertive, capable women out there but I consider myself all of those things and yet still recognise that women are not genetically designed for combat and nor are they as emotionally equipped for it. Sorry....I vote no for women being in full-on combat roles but if it has to be done, single sex regiments should be the way to go.0 -

What I'm saying is that special forces will not get weaker. The physical capabilities of females, even if not as high as males, are still way above requirements of the most hardcore special forces.0
