In for the advice. I'm 5'1 or 2" and approaching my original goal. I got smaller in 2013; I want to get stronger in 2014.0

Well I'm a little taller (5'4") but I think my advice is still true. Find your maintenance calories by gradually increasing your calories until you start to gain. But keep in mind that you may see an increase in water weight when you first start raising them so give it a few weeks to normalize. My maintenance calories are very close to MFP's recommendation for a very active person (then I don't eat back exercise calories). All recommendations are estimates, so use your real results to adjust as needed.0

I'm 5'2" and have been at maintenance since Dec 2011. I generally allow myself a 3 lb swing in either direction…kind of like a teeter totter! I'ts not always easy….I adjust my cals to accommodate my workouts ,goals and current weights. I do not follow MFP guidelines as I am into lifting…My macro's are very different than what they recommend, but I generally eat between 1300-1700 cals…sometimes more on special occasions. Everyone is different …metabolism, age, activity level all play into how much you can sneak in.
Your obviously doing well…. Just keep playing with the numbers and find the sweet spot!0 -
5'4", 124-126lbs
Been maintaining for just over a year, though I started last year on about 138 and finished the year at roughly 124lbs (though I did 'lose' 9lbs through a dodgy chilli overnight back in Feb and never regained most of it).
I've got my calories set at MFP's maintenance allowance of just over 1600 and eat back most of my exercise calories (which usually takes me up to about 2000 per day). I have good days, bad days, last night which was horrendous (I'm sure there was cream involved but I've not logged that!) and 'balance' days (roughly 1500 cals) which should balance out too many bad days.0 -
thanks for the responses! happy new year!:)0
