Happy New Year!

We are all tired of hearing and saying "New year, new me" right? I know I am but there's a stronger motivation this year to perform successfully in regards to taking care of myself. A little background information about myself: I recently graduated with my Masters Degree in Social Work living in Columbia, South Carolina and obtained my first full-time job at my alma mater, a prestigious all women's college.. One of my biggest struggles is feeling like a confident professional and my weight is my main issue. I am 26 years old and have been overweight all of my life... I do not know any other lifestyle and it's scary to admit I am afraid of my slender-to-be body. It's frightening but taking the risk to get to my goal weight is amazing.

Last year, I lost my best friend to cancer. She was only 25 years old. Hence my name "TeamAliyah" is our branded title for her journey. She was my biggest supporter and I understand she is in a better place and helping me through all I am going through. She will be a pivotal person in my weight loss journey. I am doing this for myself but myself in moderation.

I plan to start a blog (not a youtube channel (maybe)) but haven't come up with a fancy-schmancy title for it yet. I will keep you all posted.

I would like to connect to individuals who are willing to do skypercise, daily chats and motivations, and accountability. Eventually, building up the strength to meet!

Count me in.... I really need to get a skype anyway.. I'm a bit boring I know. I have family in Colombia as well. So it might be a blessing to do this one day. We can surely motivate each other and perhaps reward each other as well.

Happy New YOU! by the way!
