Can we just talk about skin allergies for a sec

Hey guys. I'm at my absolute wits end with an allergic reaction I keep having. I cannot get a test because the doctor says the allergies need to be worse to qualify, but in my opinion my reactions are pretty darn bad.

Basically, I have them on my face and my skin goes red and very puffy, then oily, then extremely dry and then it fades. It takes about a week to fade and it's super painful.

This happens after using facemasks (brand and type doesn't matter, there's something in them I need to identify).

There is obviously a common ingredient in these things, as I use many types to try and find one that works. But I just don't know what ingredient it could be. Some facemasks are okay, others send me straight to painsville.

Does anyone else have this type of reaction with facemasks? What ingredient is it that triggers it for you? Does anyone know how to allergy test yourself at home?

I don't necessarily have it with face masks, but I was (still recovering) from some lovely Amore Pacific face cream I was using. It is such a shame, it smells so beautiful. I had a similar reaction to some Chanel cream, the smell was also wonderful. I think it may be a fragrance thing?
