How do you record your weight training?

MFP is good for recording cardio, but rather tedious for weight training. Do any of you have a tool you use for that? The best I've found so far is JEFit, which I don't find that great, and it doesn't connect to MFP. What do you all use? Thanks!

I use the runtastic app to log all my workouts, and it syncs with mfp0
-
I use Jefit to track the actual weights, then just enter the total time under cardio on MFP (search Strength Training).0
-
I use a pen and a piece of paper then save the workouts in a binder. Technology changes so fast, who knows if next year the app you were using will still be functional...old school:)0

I use JeFit to record weights, reps, routine. MFP to record calories burned for exercise.0

I find recording weights a right pain so I'm going to try this JeFIT - see how it goes..........0

Same as above, I use JeFIT. Best app I have found so far..... Best of Luck0
-
I just record my cardio and use my strength training as an extra bonus.....0

I was a Jefit fan (and still think it's great) but got hooked on Gymgoal as it works for my programs better.0

Jetfit! Took a while to get the hang of it. Now I'm finding some cool statistics and stuff in there. I've stopped logging my lifts & weights her. Just the time under cardio.0
-
I like JeFIt for the reps. I use a HRM and track it that way on MFP or just not track it at all. That's usually what ends up happening.0
-
Looks like I'm the only one that uses excel spreadsheet
Lol0 -
I also find the strength recording tedious in MFP. I started using my HRM and record the total burn under my cardio setting by naming the exercise as circuit training.0

I have an excel spreadsheet that I print out. So I use that for a few cycles or until I need to make a change. I also record everything on fitocracy. I like having my numbers backed up.0

Ok, so it sounds like JEFIT it is. One their forums they posted that they hope to integrate with MFP some day. I really hate putting in everything twice. I guess logging as general weight training is fine. Thanks everyone!0

I just record it in a composition notebook. Those black and white ones you used in school that were about a buck. Works great for me.0

Another great app is Fitness Buddy. Probably better than JEfit, never really liked JEFit.0
-
I use Fitocracy. I also have used Jefit. Both are good tools, but I found Jefit to be not as user friendly as Fitocracy.0

Fitocracy currently; I like the app a lot and the points system is entertaining. The community is also pretty sweet. Their feed filtering could use some work, but it's way better than this site still so I can't really complain.
I've started mirroring on TheSquatRack, but that's not really a site everyone can join or anything, and it's still a WIP.0 -
I just log it in Cardio as "strength training".... but I'm not really concerned with the burn amount it gives me because I go by my fitbit number anyway.0
-
I wear my HRM and track it as strength training under cardio.0

For lifting I usually use bodybuilding.com. It doesn't connect to MFP, but it's the best tracker for lifting that I can find.0

TBH the calorie burn is pretty inconsequential. Anyone using a HRM to try to log exercise calories for strength training should stop; it's pretty well never going to be accurate. If you're looking to bulk, just decide on a set amount to eat extra on training days. If you're looking to cut, just log a generic MFP 60 minutes of "strength training" as cardio.0 -

I tried really hard to like bb.com's tracking site cause their bodyspace setup is so sweet, but I find it convoluted and insanely overcomplicated.0 -

This might be inaccurately calculating calories burned (for better or for worse lol). HRM are meant for running or cycling, meaning that the "calories burned" algorithm they use assumes consistent long term leg work. The farther you get from that model, the farther you get from an accurate number.
Granted if it's working for you who cares right? lol But if you're having inconsistencies in your weight loss/calorie calculations, this could be one reason.I tried really hard to like bb.com's tracking site cause their bodyspace setup is so sweet, but I find it convoluted and insanely overcomplicated.
I know right??!0 -
Are you looking to record the calories or keep track of your sets/reps/weight?
For recording calories, I just use the MFP "strength training" entry under Cardio.
FOr recording my sets/reps- I'm old school, I made my own paper log and use a half-size clipboard. I like being able to page through and see my past workouts on paper.0 -
It's been said before but if you are looking to track your weights from workout to workout, there is no competitor for the JEFIT app. Its far and away the best in the biz IMO.0

^ This. To the letter. I like being able to scribble notes next to certain lifts aka Half-Blood Prince.0 -

JEFIT has a note feature for each lift. Get out of the dark ages Hermoine.0 -
I use an excel spreadsheet. I have routines and lifting logs going back years this way, and before that, paper logs.
I record the weight training as cardio here, but I also will enter my work sets/ weights for each lift under strength training.0
