Um, where to start… never thought I’d be searching for help with nutrition and weight. My name is Michael, 46 year old, from Huntsville, Alabama. I’m an Aerospace Engineer, mostly sitting behind a computer. Weight: 212, Height: 6” I never had problems with my weight before; at least I didn’t think I did, but recently was diagnosed as having Type 2 Diabetes and high cholesterol. Wow, I thought this scale can’t be right! I never watched my weight (thought I had been the same for years), what I eat or even thought of how different foods affect us. My eyes are wide open now after perusing this site. So I’m here to get back on the right track and looking for any advice any of you can provide.
Thanks Mike for a great site and allowing us ways to track our diet and exercise activity.

Hi! Nice to meet you and nice to meet someone else from AL!!! I am from Foley, but have family in Hartselle.
My starting weight was 215 and I am now at 163. My goal weight is 135, so only 28 more lbs to go!
I hope this site can help you! It has been a BIG help to me! Welcome and good luck with your weightloss.

Welcome!
My sister is an aeronautical engineer too. We make "rocket scientist" jokes as often as possible with her. (since, she actually does work on rockets...)0 -
Hi micheal!! Wlecome to the site. ive only been here for a little over a month and my diet has changed a great deal. when you have to log down what you eat everyday it does change your habits. you might want to discuss with your doctor about what diet might be best for you. ifor myself, i found a low carb ( except for whole grains) and protien enrich food works best for me and my weightloss goals to be healthier. good luck to you and feel free to add me.0
