After starting to strictly make sure I drink 8oz of water a day I noticed that I was going to the bathroom (number one) CONSTANTLY. Like, every hour or so. Since then I've noticed that the number of times has slowly been dropping off, and now I'm going about the same rate as I used to despite drinking the same amount of water. Is this normal? I remember reading that the body adjusts but if I'm taking in more fluid, you'd think I'd be getting more fluid out too...

I noticed the same thing and talked to friends about it - it is a bodily adjustment (not that I'm a doctor or anything...). From what I know or was told, it's as basic as that - same concept as eating less and always feeling hungry, but then as time goes on, that lower amount of food is sufficient (really basic example, but hope it helps!).

    Hope it's going well...

Maybe by "adjusting" it means you body gets more efficient at processing the extra liquid. I think so . . . well, at least I hope so!!

yes I have heard that it takes 2-3 weeks and your body adjusts to the water intake and begins to use it more efficiently! Just have to get through those pesky 2-3 weeks!

I can't say that I am going less or more frequent- I'm a teacher and bathroom breaks are not part of the daily schedule (2x if you are lucky) but when I go- I goooooo. Which I know is cleaning out my system well. I am just trying to help my body to adjust to more water and less caffeine (diet coke)
