Happy New Year!!

I've been on MFP since July 12, 2013. I used the MFP app consistently for 3 months before I lost motivation and stopped. I did manage to get from 198 to 183 before I stopped logging. Thankfully I have been able to maintain my weight since I have stopped tracking, but I WANT to lose weight. Back in October, my husband started watching what he was eating as part of a program for insurance incentives for his employer. He started at 6'2'' and 218lbs. He went from eating probably around 4500 to 4500 calories a day and close drinking close to a 6 pack of soda to 2100 calories a day and virtually no soda.....mainly water with the occasional sweet tea. Well in the 3 months that he has been tracking, he has gotten himself down to 181lbs, for a total loss of 37 lbs. He has lost 4 inches off of his waist and no longer has his "beer gut" (even though he doesn't drink beer, ha ha)

After seeing that my husband who was really one of the last people who I thought would try to lose weight, actually do it and keep up with it, I'm ready to start working on myself again.

I don't remember myself as being thin at any age younger than age 10 or 11. I remember being 13 years old and wearing a size 9 pants, and weighing 160lbs. I have always been one of the bigger people in my family, my 22 year old brother is like 5'11 and all of 135lbs (so jealous he got the "skinny" genetics) I was in sports growing up. I played soccer for two years, and practiced Taekwondo 2 days a week for 10 years and was always still heavy

My life the last 3 years has had major highs and lows. I had my wonderful daughter in April of 2011 (that's when I weighed the most), In November of 2011 I lost my dad unexpectedly due to what is believed to be a heart attack (we aren't sure for sure though and no autopsy was performed) and I just unexpectedly lost my Mom on December 1st from what I am told is complications of liver and kidney failure. Now my husband and I are dealing with the stress of going through all of my parents belongings and deciding what to do with it all. So to say that my life has been one big mess (for the last month at least).

To some, now may not seem like the best time for me to re-start my journey, but for now, all I am looking to do is lose 5lbs by February 1st.

My stats:
Age 25
Height: 5'3''
Highest Weight: 198lbs
Current Weight: 183lbs
Goal Weight: 150lbs (For now at least)

I see members on here who have had so much success and they all look so wonderful. I cannot wait to be one of them! Here's to a new year and a new me!
