My new weight watchers digital scales finally arrived today..and it tells you your weight, BMI, body fat percentage, body fat weight, and hydration levels, which is pretty cool. All of my readings bar hydration are in the 'red zone', too high, but i'd like to know what to aim for, what is the recommended body fat percentage for a woman?

I'm 5'3 and my stats were:
Weight: 10 st 8.25 pounds (148.25 lbs)
BMI: 26.3
Body fat weight: 3 st 7.5 pounds (49.5 lbs)
Body fat percentage: 33.5%

It's all quite depressing but at least now I can track my progress a lot better, which motivates me a lot more

It's based on your age, so you would be between 21 - 33 %

Here is a link to the healthy body fat percentage chart:

  • i think the recommended normal body fat percent for women is 22-25%. 26-29% is over, and above 30%... well, we all know what that means.
