I need help in determining calories to lose weight. I am 51 years young, healthy and in menopause. My hormones are low, but not out of balance. In the past year I gained 20 pounds.. something that has never happened to me before. I am 5 feet 2 inches and have begun to work out like I used to. Curcuit weight training 2 - 3 days a week, and interval training another 2 days. All workouts an hour each.; so 5 - 6 days. Nothing crazy, and I feel good. I started 2 weeks ago, along with eating about 1200 calories to 1300 calories. I have not lost anything, in fact I think I gained a little.
I am very confused when people say to eat more calories...yet, I am not hungry and eat good quality meals 4 to 5 times a day. Lean protein, whole grains, and veggies. I eliminated sugars and fruit for now, too.
How little is too little calories..and how long will it take for my body to kick start again??
Thank you for your help!!:
