I'm Back!

Hi there. I started MFP May 25, 2013 and lost 9 lbs. Then I had a car accident and was dealing with a lot of stuff
and I also work for a chiropractor and one of my patients is "the sugar tooth fairy", as I appropriately named her for
bringing sweets in every time she came for treatment for her car accident--that's 3 times a week for months! She has
great SWEETs to taste our pallates with...I couldn't resist!--she's a chef....
Anyway. I weighed myself on I think 1/1/2014 and I had to this point gained 3 of the 9 pounds back. So I started MFP
again because I was ready....I love MPF and I recommend this site to everyone I can. I started back. The next day
the scale registered 2 lbs less.
Unfortunately, I had a spinal injection today (c6-7) to help my symptoms (cortisone) and OMG I WENT STRESS FOOD
WILD AFTER THE PROCEDURE--MAYBE CUZ I'M STILL ALIVE AND I CAN WALK? I dunno. It was not fun, let me tell you!
So tomorrow is a new day--I had grocery shopped Thurs night and bought the necessary greens and fruits....I had some
today (ok not greens but the fruit).....I'm in a half of a veggie/fruit coop and trade eggs for partial payment--I raise chickens
for eggs (and ducks) (and a bunny for pleasure -- no eggs there!)
I lost a couple MFP friends because of going MIA, though I checked in from time to time to say hello so I wouldn't lose
anyone. Oh well. No biggy but I miss them a lil bit. Cuz I care! So.....that's my story up to now.
I am not exercising but I stretch and rehab a lot--I'm in pain. Oh yeah, Sept, 2012, I fell -- got a concussion, protruded C6-7
and sprained my left wrist, foot, neck, and right hip....so I'm stretching a lot and rehabbing--STILL!
So, I'm not into the exercising as I was in 2010-2011. I have gout as well, which is important for me to eat healthy and lose
weight. Gout, if you do not know--IS A HORRIBLE AFFLICTION! Once you have it, you have it for life. I DRINK 2 ltrs water (at
least per day since Jan 2010...but not tap water--it's too acidic. Be careful....watch your beef, breads, shellfish, beer, alcohol,
spinach (if you eat the other stuff too) and dried beans (canned or fresh or dried), stress, and environmental toxins--inhaled
or otherwise....It can make you more acidic. There ya go....
Happy New Year!

Welcome Back!!! I also am currently working through some pain (multiple torn tendons). It's getting better though with therapy and slowing down. I have met my goal weight and learning to maintain. So far, the months of December I have been able to accomplish that which totally shocked the blankity blank out of me!!
I have joined a few challenges and groups on MFP and love them. They keep me motivated, encouraged and accountable!!!! I KNOW that's why I did so well during the Holidays.
Hope you start feeling better soon and have a wonderful weekend!! :drinker:0 -
Thank you. Would you like to friend me? I can't do the challenges but I will be posting daily and helping to support
others, as I have done in the past.congrats to you on your achievements and Happy New Year!

I tore a tendon off and broke a chip off my bone at the joint on my last digit of my left pinky at a concert during a fall one year. Had to have surgery. Did you have surgery? What tendons did you tear?0

Thank GOD, no surgery needed (went to a specialist). They are on my left hip, left knee, and left ankle. Basically, my left leg!! Physical therapy twice a week with home and gym stretching and other low impact cardio. It feels sooooo much better now then it did a month ago. It's been about six months total. Took the doctors (insurance issues) this long to find out what was wrong. :grumble:
Thanks You on my achievements. It's been a long journey, but oh sooooo worth it.
Sending a friend request now. :flowerforyou:0 -
Have you tried black cherry extract for the gout? Works wonders for me!0
