Heart Rate app and calories burned

I'm going to eventually get an HRM, as I know it's better than what I just did today, but I am wondering about how everything is calculated.

I used the Runtastic Heart Rate App, and it's surprisingly accurate, I tested by taking my own pulse, and then using the app...no more than 2-3 beats off, usually right on...kind of creepy actually.

I then did Insanity Pure Cardio, it's my first week Day 5 and took it about 9 times at the beginning, during rest periods, and times when I had to bow out.

The max ended up being 189, average with my HR being 132 after the cool down factored in was 172.

I put that into a few calculators with my 5'9" 190lbs of non-muscle, and was getting a crazy burn amount of 649 calories for the 35 minutes the workout takes to do.

Is that right?! Seems really high even though I just turned my yoga mat into a sweaty dish rag.

Just curious. All the calculators, etc are consistent throughout the board that I've checked with.
