Work (Waitress, nurse) and burning calories

Just wondering what others thought as to how to calculate how many calories are burned during a work day. I work at a moderate to fast past restaurant and have used a broken pedometer (doesn't count EVERY step) to see that on an average day I take about 5000+ steps. Should I, and how should I if I should, calculate that in my "exercise." Its not a "workout", but its far from sedentary.

This should be accounted for when selecting your basic activity level. I believe MFP gives examples and waitress is given as an example under active (the second highest setting).0

It is not exercise, it's your usual routine so don't count it.0
