    Thanks for all the responses!

The reason that I am thinking of diet is simply because I feel like I don't have that many options.

I've had particularly bad skin recently - redness, acne (a couple of large ones that sit deep) and dryness (extreme patchiness on the side of my face). If I look carefully, I can always find plenty of black spots. Not to sound disgusting, but I can squeeze them out just about anywhere.

Hormones might be part of it - I'm supposed to have my period now - in fact, a week ago (no idea why it hasn't arrived, not pregnant).
However it's been bad for some time.

I drink a lot of water and get a lot of healthy fats. I'm Scandinavian and grew up on a lot of seafood, smoked salmon is a regular part of my diet for breakfast/lunch, also like avocados a lot.

I've discussed it with my doctor. Roaccutane is not something you're given twice, but I've been given other medicines. They don't work at all. The only prescription I'm happy with is the Duac gel - I apply it to zits before I go to bed and it dries them out.

I'm doing paleo right now and will see how cutting out dairy and grains/wheat will affect my skin.

Whenever I have wie I always make sure I have plenty of water with it (get easily thirsty anyway) but now I'm thinking I should probably cut alcohol out completely for a while. As annoying as it may be :(

This came across my email this morning, thought it might be right up your alley! :)

Thanks for the link! Trying to start liking sweet potatoes. Will eat more carrots too - am super pale so maybe they'll help me develop a tan as well :)
