How to burn a lot of calories...???

What exercises can I do to burn 4,400 calories a day? Keep in mind I can't do too much hard stuff because I'm 500lbs so I gotta start slow.

4400 a DAY??? That sounds a little excessive...!

My biggest burn comes from running, which might not be an option for you yet. After that it's cleaning and walking.

When you weigh more you can burn a lot more than a smaller person would. Try walking or low impact exercises on youtube.
  • I know it's excessive....but, It's how much this site says I need to burn a day.

You should only have a deficit of 500 from whatever maintenance is.

I think the number 4,400 you are getting is how much you should be eating a day to lose weight.

MFP doesn't tell you how much you need to burn, it tells you how much you need to consume. It is up to you how much you burn.
  • Calories Burned
From Normal Daily Activity 4,230 cal/day
    Net Calories Consumed*
    Your Daily Goal 3,230 cal/day
    Daily Calorie Deficit 1,000 calories
    Projected Weight Loss 2 lbs/week

that's what my "Goals" page says.

Your goal to eat it is saying is 3,230 not now much to burn off.

If you go over this amount then you exercise whatever amount you overate.

The calories burned are just what your body uses from just ticking over. It is one of the few advantages of being larger, we can loosewweight whilst eating lots.

So if you eat 3230 calories a day you should loose 2 pounds a week, even without exercise. Walking or swimming would be a good exercise that is low impact.

The 4230 cals is what you burn every day according to your activity level you set

The 3230 cals is what you should be eating to lose weight

You don't need to burn any calories from additional exercise to lose weight if you stick to consuming 3230 cals daily. Although It's always a good idea to try and do a bit of exercise but at your size get advice on what is safe to do.

Calories Burned From Normal Daily Activity is the amount of calories your body burns at your current activity level!

You should eat 3230 cal/day and any exercise is extra

4230 is what your body naturally burns through out the day by simple movements, breathing, etc. It is saying that you need to eat at least 3230 (that is -1000, which creates a deficit) So if you stick to that, you should definitely see results! :D
  • Oh okay...I get it now. Thanks everyone. I feel less confused and a little stupid now. haha
