Shift Workers UNITE!

As a continental shift worker (07-19/19-07) I'm always looking for ways to improve my schedule to maximize time off and not burn out on days that I am working.

I work in emergency health services (ambulance) so not only are the days long, but they can be stressful and exhausting.

Day shifts have me up at 0530 to be at work for 0645 and I return home around 1930.
Night shifts are a bit wonkier because I don't sleep well during the day.

I've also got a 2 year old who I prefer to give most of my attention to :)

I have managed to lose almost 60lbs, but most of that was while on maternity leave in 2012 -- once returning to this schedule, I think I only lost 5-7lbs and fluctuated most of the year.

Hoping to meet some shift-working friends to learn from because I'm determined to lose the last 20-30!
