Why do people think 1200 calories is a good goal? It seems like so little and I'm always still hungry. What would you suggest for a girl who is 5'6 145lbs, that works out about 400-500 calories a day. I was thinking 1450 maybe

I agree with you as I think 1200 a day is not enough especially if you are active and or exercising regularly. Make sure they are good, healthy calories though. Food is your medicine.0

i personally dont think 1200 is a good goal. but if yours was set at 1200 and you did burn 400-500 calories a day you would also want to eat back those calories. thus putting you at 1600-1700 calories a day. i have lost weight and havent changed my default calories of 1400 since day one. somedays i eat all my exercise calories back. somedays i eat none and somedays i eat some.
