that 30 minutes of yoga would be such a work out! I was intrigued by other posts talking about how good yoga was but I don't have any options for classes nearby, so I found some free podcasts on ITunes to download and tried one that looked the "easiest." WOW! Even with just some really simple stretching and poses, I feel like I've been in the gym for hour! I'm definitely not ready for the advanced poses--that's for sure! What a great work out--I'll have to do this more.

WAIT UNTIL TOMORROW, YOU'LL REALLY BE SORE! YOGA GETS YOU INTO POSITIONS YOU WOUNDN'T PUT YOURSELF IN IN A REGULAR WORKOUT. IT WORKS ALL YOUR MUSCLES!!! AFTER A COUPLE OF TIMES DOING YOGA YOU SHOULD BE FINE!!!

Yoga is wonderful - too bad it doesn't burn that many calories :grumble:

My favorite yoga videos are: strength, stamina, and flexibility by Rodney Yee & for beginners, Yoga for Weightloss by Suzanne Deason - the weight loss one has different people doing the poses based on level of flexibility, so it's great for most people.

Oh, and some people feel the most sore 2 days later

Not only does it feel great physically, but it is also so relaxing. Totally worth it for the stress busting alone! Good for you for trying something new!

I love yoga. I do the YogaBurn DVD by Rodney Yee and I also downloaded another one and its awesome too. It is good to get a few different ones so that you can give yourself variety. I love variety in yoga which in class gives but I find popping in a different DVD depending on my mood or energy that day leads me to doing yoga daily.

Plus I love the corpse pose at the end - the best feeling in the world.

Well, I'm not really sore today but my abs feel like I've done about 100 sit ups or crunchies! I'm going to make this part of my regular routine--I get the calories burned from bike riding but now I know the yoga can help with muscle work.

AND THE BEST PART--my thighs had been really sore from all the bike riding I've been doing. This morning, they feel great! No stiffness, no soreness--it's all gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
