Go at your own pace, and focus on form over speed.
If you get discouraged because you are not going as fast as Shaun T or his crew, then you will fail.

If you take your time, and make sure you are doing the moves right, the speed will come soon enough.
Also, unlike other programs, you won't see anybody demonstrating any modifications.

I enjoyed the program, but it is definitely a tough one.......probably one of the tougher programs I have done.

Enjoy and I wish you success.
  • Thank You, that was wonderful advice, I'll keep it in mind

Plan your meals ahead of time and premake some healthy snacks. I have done two rounds of Insanity and no matter how my conditioning progress' I get ridiculously hungry. Make it count :D

I also agree on the above posters comment, do not try to keep pace. Do as many of each exercise as possible, and really try to put the effort in transitioning from exercise to exercise. Do not skip the stretching at all, have an ice pack ready just in case you get a minor ouchy [nip it in the bud!] and what else, oh yeah buy a huge pail of epsom salts because it feels amazing to soak that body after working so hard.

Your glutes will look fab if you stick with it! Best of luck, add me if you like.
  • Hi there! I just did Insanity for the first time at the gym this morning. I agree with the other posters, go at your own pace. Form is better than speed at this point. It was an intense workout but probably one of the best I've had!

Good luck to you! feel free to add me if you'd like. I'm super motivated and am on here daily!
  • Thank you all for the great tips, I greatly appreciate it!!
    Writing it all down
    Thanks!!

Don't be afraid to take mid set breaks when you are starting. Better to catch your breath than to pass out
