And I'm here to lose about 30 lbs, I'd say. Maybe more, but I'm trying to be realistic too, and I think I look better at the higher end of the "normal" BMI range (whatever that is, right?). I certainly *feel* better at the higher range.
I start and stop this process, but feel I need to really create a profile and reach out since it can be really lonely doing this at times. I was in shape just a few years ago, but I was restricting and over-exercising. My workouts and non-gym activities were pretty intense at **4-5 hrs a day/5 days a week** and it's no wonder I stopped. I'm looking to see if I can get back in the shape I was then without torturing myself, lol . Also, I lost a fair amount of weight back then too quickly and that is my problem right there--if I don't see results fast enough I jump off and eat whatever, whenever and skip workouts. As much as I hate to say it, I really hate the gym right now--but my goal is to go 3 days a week for a while to see how I feel about that. Also, I am eating a lot more cals than the MFP app suggests because I've eaten those cals before, and that is way too little--and eating that way seems very restrictive. I have a good idea of what I need to eat calorie-wise to support my current activity and fitness goals, and it's lower than what I'm currently eating so I will feel the difference (hence, will need the support/motivation).
So, not sure what types of people are on here. I'm not looking for anything extreme, just something more attainable. Yes, I've gained a bit of weight over the past 2 years, but I don't want to punish myself for "letting myself go" either. I know the diet/fitness world can be full of rules and fanatics--just looking to connect with mostly chill folk who know they've overstepped it a little, nothing extreme here. :happy:

Hello Vicky, I'm Brian. I tried this exactly two years ago along with a cross fit program. I was seeing great results until I missed up my heel, again. The ortho doc told me not to run anymore, no more playing softball for this old guy. It was hard as that was something I enjoyed. So, over the last two years, i gained back the 20lbs. I had lost. Recently, at a doctors appt, he told me I needed to stop being stressed and get back on it. So, here I go again. I am starting with something simple in the form of exercise to get my motivation back. Like you, once I can get a good start, I will start pushing the bike to see if I can lose weight faster. Life stresses me. My biggest problem is the adult beverages, not necessarily the wrong things to eat. Send me a friend request if interested and we can see if we can help each other. my username is studmuffinbh.0
