Really awkward

I've already lost 50 pounds on my own, but I just feel even more awkward. I want to continue to lose weight regardless of how I feel about myself and I thought this might be a good way to motivate myself, somehow. My weight loss has sort of put me at an awkward weight now, none of my clothes fit, everything is really baggy, but it's not enough weight to constitute a new wardrobe just yet; therefore, I usually walk around pulling my pants up or fixing my shirts because the shoulders are too big. Obviously this is why I feel so awkward in my own skin, but hopefully I can fix that.

That's awesome that you are losing. I go to Goodwill. Even if you just get a few things for your short in between journey. Good going!0

Oh my goodness! Treat yourself and buy some clothes. YOU LOST 50lbs!!!! You deserve it. You did to get a whole new wardrobe but a least a few essentials.
For the longest time I was walking around feeling like slob, promising myself I would by new clothes when I lost weight. Someone said to me it's important to feel good and you can look your best at any size. I've only 20lbs and I bought one complete outfit new and went to the second hand store and picked up a few things. It felt really good and motivated me to keep going.
Happy shopping and Congratulations!!0 -
I say that's the best bit... is that none of your clothes fit right!!! you should feel really proud of yourself and you can have that smug feeling that soon you'll definitely need a new wardrobe! YAY!!!!0

Go to a thrift store, like goodwill or value village. You can get some clothes that fit, look nice, and don't cost so much.0

Definitely get yourself some new to you clothes. I go to Goodwill all the time, even before I lost weight. Probably 90% of my wardrobe is from there and I get compliments on it. I'm lucky that I have one close so I can stop there weekly. You'll feel much better in proper fitting clothes. And you deserve it!0

I agree with everyone on rewarding yourself with new clothes when your old clothes don't fit. Thrift stores are the way to go unless money is no object. Today I bought myself 6 new (used) pairs of jeans and pants. Only one fits right now. The others will fit when I lose another 10-15 pounds. I only paid $35 with tax.0

I also shopped a lot at thrift stores and GoodWill while I was loosing. I told myself I'd buy really nice staples when I got to goal size as a reward. but in the middle I sought out the cheapest I could find to get me though.0

Congrats on the weight loss! I agree with the others, Goodwill and thrift stores are great places to shop. For xmas I went on a shopping spree there because I was still wearing clothes three sizes too big for me and its certainly nice to have at least some clothes that fit properly.
The biggest issue for me is I'm losing fat in some places much faster than others which just means I'm shaped weird ><. But I suppose this too shall pass. Good luck on your continued weight loss!0 -
Thank you to everyone for the support and the advice, I used to go to Goodwill a lot before, just haven't had the time to get to one for a while; plus I live out in the boonies DD: I think you guys are right though, buying myself some things that at least fit me decently, for now, might help give my confidence a boost.

I only lost 20 so far and I bought myself 2 new pairs of pants. It's AMAZING how AMAZING you look in new, smaller pants that actually fit. I vote you buy one or two new pairs of pants that fit. A cheap brand, so it's not a big deal when they don't fit in another few months. When I got my new pants, they made me feel super sexy. I can't stop looking at my legs and butt in the mirror. My boss's daughter walked in on me checking out my butt in the bathroom mirror at work. Talk about awkward. . .0
