Exercise and sleep

Did anyone fine their sleep pattern was disrupted by starting to exercise in the evening? I normally get home from work at about 6.30 and before starting back at the gym would have dinner, make lunch for the next day and all that stuff and be falling asleep by 11pm. The past few days I've been going to the gym by 7pm and so by time I get home and start cooking dinner, it's 9pm. Then by time I'd showered and got my ready and started winding down, it was midnight and I didn't fall asleep until 2am. I am so tired today, I feel like I'm hungover.

I can't change my routine during the day, there's no time to exercise before work and I can never get to the gym before about 7pm. Do you think maybe changing my dinner to a post gym snack (fruit and nuts or something) and having a big lunch would help? Or will I just get used to it, I need to be asleep before 2 in the morning :-)

I love being able to go to the gym when I get off work at 23:30, but I have noticed that I'll very easily be up past 04:00 now (note the post time) when before I started exercising, I was a gonner by 02:00 max. I'm not complaining as I don't go to work until 3 in the afternoon, but gyming has definitely changed my sleep pattern.

And it almost seems as even though I'm sleeping less, I'm sleeping better so it's not having a negative impact on things. It could just be my imagination, but it sure seems to be the case.
