Hello everyone. I am a 33 year old school counselor, graduate student, wife, mother, and friend! I have titled my journey on MFP as Time to Focus on Me. Let's do this together!
About 5 years ago I started Weight Watchers because I was super unhappy with my body and my weight. I started the program at 188 pounds. In about a year I was down to 144 pounds and feeling great. My husband and I wanted to start a family so we started trying. I got pregnant about 6 months later. I thought I would be able to keep my weight gain to a minimum since I was already disciplined to the WW program, but instead I took pregnancy as an option to eat anything I wanted. This was a mistake. I gained about 55 pounds with my first pregnancy going into the hospital at 199. About 2 weeks after having my son I was down to 174 and doing ok. I didn't drop much after that for a couple of years. I wanted to change to a less permanent birth control so I went from the mirena to a pill. After doing this I got really sick and started losing weight because I couldn't eat. I went off the pill because nothing was worth that. I lost about 9 pounds during that time and was seeing good results. About 3 weeks after going off the pill I found out I was pregnant with baby #2. I was at 165 at the start of this pregnancy, by the end I was at 220 and feeling really out of control. My daughter is not 9 months and I am at 175 pounds and ready to start losing again. I have dropped 4 pounds in the last 2 weeks and very happy with that. I have stopped drinking pop, which I was drinking about 2 or 3 44 oz. Diet Dews a day. This was something that was really hard for me to do but I am going on 4 weeks with no pop and it isn't so bad, and it is a lot cheaper to drink water than that pop.
I am hoping to get back to around 150. I expect that I can and will do this through the help of better eating, exercise, and the support of my family.
