New Exercise Bike

Got a new Everlast EV626 bike yesterday - just want opinions on whether the monitor is out to lunch or not. I know the calories are. According to bike it said I burned over 500, when my HRM said 150. I rode for 30 minute on a preset program - so I built up to half tension, and then back down again. So tension wasn't strong. According to bike I was going approx. 32mph (I think that is 89 RPM) and did 18.8 miles. Does anyone have an exercise bike to compare this to - are the # out to lunch. Thanks in advance.

Burning 500 calories in 30 minutes sounds about right if you were working our at a vigorous pace. The default MFP reading for 30 minutes on an exercise bike is 517 calories at a rigorous pace.
I try to do 20 minutes a day on my Airdine and can usually manage to burn 300 calories per session. Cycling is brilliant for burning calories, just watch the guys in the Tour de France.
Best of luck0
