went today with my husband on a 2 mile hike! it wasn't super-strenuous, but it did have a lot of climb to it. it was a 1.3 mile trail up hanging rock, and i was so excited to make it all the way up and back again with being *completely* give out. it took us about 2 hours, which is what the recommended time was, so i'm glad i was in the ballpark. i hope to get my time less, and i also want to practice getting comfortable with my foot placement so i don't feel so awkward - but i'm so glad that i made it to the top! we're planning on going each weekend until it gets too cold, and i'm going to take a picture of myself each time, because i'm hoping that combined with all the cardio and weights i'm doing, it will help to change my physique. i also think it will help me in a mental kind of way to see pictures of me outdoors often so i start to associate myself with the great outdoors - something that is brand new for me! so yay for hiking!

Good for you! I only live about four hours from hanging rock and it's one of the places I've always wanted to visit. Now that I can, I should! You might have just inspired me to go next Saturday. :)

Thats awesome I started doing sunday hikes with a group of like minded friends at the beginning of the summer..its been awesome. We are doing a big 4 hr one next weekend that should be pretty challenging we are really excited. We've also added in kayaking, and other out door stuff because thats who I want to be..an outdoor girl not a couch potato anymore!
