When I'm not trying to lose weight I would eat crusty bread or a sandwich but with 52 days until my birthday I really want to lose as much weight as i can (the healthy way) starting tomorrow I have all my food planned and I'm currently cooking my soup for tea but what can I eat with it? I'm worried I'll be left unsatisfied if I eat it alone and then I might find myself snacking..

This was just a topic a couple days ago:

Personally I'd eat the bread or 1/2 a sandwich.

There's nothing wrong with a nice piece of toast, biscuit, or sandwich! As long as you're within your calories for the day you can totally enjoy those things. =)

Some of my favourite things to add into soup to 'bulk it up' a bit are quinoa, rice, barley, shredded chicken, shrimp, or almost any other leftovers in the fridge! I love a big bowl of soup for dinner, especially around this time of year.

Oh - and pita or naan bread for dipping!

What I like to do is sprinkle a bit of Parmesan cheese on top (the real parmigiano reggiano from Italy, not the cheap crap that tastes like sawdust), or swirl in a bit of basil pesto. Makes the soup taste richer and more flavourful. On the side, you can have crudités like celery or cucumber.

I'd go with a nice slice of toasted sourdough myself. Nothing wrong with bread. And a lot of the sliced sourdoughs are under 100 cals per slice.

What about replacing the bread with croutons? Could bake in garlic or pesto to give some texture and bulk it out a little.
