Jessica Simpson GMA

I just started Weight Watchers on 1/2/14 as an ancillary means to help with my weight loss goals with MFP. I am very pumped to be part of the program because it's more involved (meetings) and encourages accountability.
Did anyone watch this morning's Good Morning America edition featuring Jessica Simpson and her weight loss with WW? (Yea I know she is getting paid to be their spokesperson so she's got no choice) but I am all about success stories and seeing results and was enlightened to see a WW member appear on the show showing off her 235 lbs weight loss.
In case you missed it, here it is for your viewing pleasure

Just keep in mind that (1) She's a paid endorser. (2) She is a celebrity who's entire world revolves around her persona and can dedicate much more time and money to fitness than your average joe and (3) a good chunk of that weight loss number is the actual weight of the babies, and increased metabolism due to breastfeeding.
I have nothing to say for or against WW. I think MFP is a bit more sustainable in the long term. But a lot of people are successful with WW, at least for a while.
There are plenty of success stories under the Success Stories sub-forum on MFP. Check em out :-)0 -
I don't disagree. I am just empowered by success stories no matter the medians chosen (healthy let me add).
I have checked those threads and are awed. Just goes to show anyone can do it if they put their mind to it0 -
I'm doing WW, but on a free app on my phone not paying for meetings, so I'm using MFP as a support system and learning from the posts. I lost on WW before, but didn't do the Maintance, and gained all the weight back. Once I get the weight off this time I think I'll use MFP for the maintance...0

I'm not a fan of WW. The points work out to a calorie amount that's low enough to get results, but most people can't ever really leave the program without regaining the weight (because of the low-calorie loss).
I do think the meetings and in-person support and accountability are very valuable for some people though, so I understand why people choose it.0
