So I ate more than I should've today...

Today was a weird day for me (back at work after vacation, getting sick, chocolate everywhere), and just got home at 4 and decided to dispose of leftover food into my stomach.

When I started, I told myself that I wouldn't log it because it would stress me out too much and I would prefer not to know and start fresh tomorrow. So I ate.

Then, about 15-20 minutes later, I decided to just log it in - total for the day came out to around 2700 cals (I am currently aiming for about 1700 net). Now, at this point, I make a decision: I go to the gym with my roommate (she was having an off-day too, so part of my motivation was to help her feel better). My intention is NOT to kill myself at the gym burning off the excess calories, but just to go watch TV on a treadmill and get moving. I recently got a FitBit and needed to reach my 10,000 steps for the day lol. So we went together. The result? Started around 5,000 steps, ended the day with over 16,000 - I jogged when I felt like it and walked when I felt like it.

Basically, I wanted to share this story for a few reasons:

1. Just because you feel like you 'ruined' your day, there is time to fix it - even just a ten-minute walk around your house is better than nothing.

2. Sometimes we have off days - it's not a reason to get discouraged, it just means you'll do better tomorrow.

3. Instead of berating yourself or feeling negatively towards yourself, accept your actions, forgive yourself, and MOVE ON. Trust me, you'll be happier for it, and it will benefit you in the long run.

So for anyone out there who didn't have a 'perfect' day, don't worry! There are thousands of us out there, thousands! And we'll do better tomorrow.

TL; DR: I ate more than I should've, exercised a bit, and got over it. Tomorrow's another day.
