Ex/overeater- when is it normal to be hungry?

Hi all, 21-year-old overeater. I'm 5'6" and I weigh 224 at the moment. I'm trying to get better about watching my eating- cutting out constant 'grazing', not eating after 9:00pm, and concentrating on eating bigger meals in the morning and smaller meals at night.
I'm just wondering, is it normal to be hungry constantly? I'm guessing that, as I increase my exercise habits and get better about curbing my carb intake, it will go away. Is this true?

In the beginning yes you'l be hungry. Your stomach is stretched and your body will be used to more food. It will subside. Stock up on lots of salads, vegies, protein and water to help ease the hunger.0
