Has anyone tried the Doctors Diet from the book by Dr. Stork? I've tried googling it to get more information, but all I can find is links to the book. I plan on buying the book IF it is something I want to try, but I don't like putting a bunch of money into something that I'm unsure about. Has anyone tried it? If so how does the stat phase work? If it seems doable, I'm off to the bookstore. If not, I'm off to another google search. :P

There is no diet how there that will help one lose weight.

Its a matter of portion control, getting up and moving and eating less than you expending.

Eat your everyday foods ... in moderation. Measure, weigh and log your food ... all of them.

You'd be surprised at how simple it can be. Trust yourself.

Just watched Dr Phil, did ya?

I'm curious what's in the book, without reading it myself.

You don't need to spend any money on books to lose weight.

Pretty much any book that's going to give you good, realistic advice about weight loss is going to say the same thing: eat fewer calories than you spend each day, and you will lose weight. Sure, there are lots of ways of eating that accomplish that, but it all boils down to finding a way of eating that you can sustain for the long run...and the most successful people on this site have proudly shared their insights with everyone via the forums. I'd suggest going to the "success stories" forums of this site, and look for posts with people explaining what they did to get to their goal. Lots of people actually write out a lot, not just before and after photos. And, some of those people have open diaries and you can see how they eat.

Any book that claims you can lose weight without somehow restricting calories is feeding you a line of crap.

I did just watch Dr. Phil! I was curious about some of his recipes not a magic fix. I know that it comes down to calories in calories out.
