Why can I suddenly not lose?

Hey everyone,

First post since joining. I require some advice please!

Over the Christmas period, I didn't keep track of what I eat, didn't overly exercise and definitely didn't cut back on the booze and sugar and I was a lower weight than I've been since I was about 17! Now the new year has commenced, I've started exercising more, using this app to track my calorie intake, not eating rubbish, cutting way back on alcohol etc, and I've put on 3 pounds and they aren't budging!

Anyone else had this problem? What the deal?! It's driving me mad!

Thanks
S x

What were you doing before the holidays? I found this article to be helpful if it applies to you.

Why the Scale Goes Up When You Start a New Workout Plan

  • Well my job involves being on my feet all day, I walk the dog and I have two small children so I'm quite active anyway, but now I have started doing an exercise DVD, walking the dog at a more brisk pace and I want to start jogging too.

I think I am expecting to lose more quickly than is probable, I think I will keep at it for a couple more weeks and see if I see any progress, after all it's only 8th Jan! It's just annoying that when I wasn't trying at all, I weighed less than I do now!

    Thanks for the link!
