I am trying to figure this out as well. Today I got a monster for the first time. I was super active today, helping my parents move all day. Up and down stairs. Laps around the house. I've searched the internet and only found one message board where someone said it gives you a random smiley when you meet your goals. I will be watching more closely to try to figure it out.

I've found that if I've been sedentary for awhile (I don't know the time limits on all of these), I get a face with the tongue sticking out. :P If I've taken some amount of steps for some amount of time (again, don't know the time/step limits), then I get the smiling face. :) If I've been really active, then I get the super-happy face. :D After awhile of not moving, each of the smiling/happy faces will eventually turn back into the tongue-out face.

I've never seen the monster-like things, probably because I always wear my Fitbit on my bra so I don't look at it very often. But according to Fitbit, those little monster-things are easter eggs put into the Zip by the programmers and they'll show up randomly.

I also got the monster face after a lot of activity (an hour of Zumba). I loved it and hope to see it pop up again!
