Losing weight whilst Travelling

I need some serious advise on "dieting" and "Excercising" whilst travelling. My work has me travelling extensively and this forces me away from the gym and me cooking my own food for lengthy periods at a time.

Whilst away im living in hotels (sometimes there is no gym facilities) and eating buffet style meals.

How can one continue to loss the weight/track calories when its not being prepared in front of you? I try my best to keep the diet clean but choice sometimes proves difficult.

Any advise appreciated!!

Hi - I found the 7 minute workout brilliant for doing in hotel rooms when you dont want to or can't get to a gym - you can download an app...
buffets - calculate what you are going to have before you go in - and stick to it - breakfast - egg white omlette, fruits, wholewheat toast - black tea or coffee, juice - calculate the calorie value - then don't have any more! Other meals - salad - loads of it - balsamic for your dressing - proteins - small amount of carbs - fruit - weigh out equivalent at home then you will know what the calorie value is when away,.......

I do the same! good luck!

I'm having the same issue as you- I'll be traveling the next 3 weeks for work, and my schedule is *tight*, as in early mornings to late nights.

I've been researching healthy snacks to have on me while I'm working all day and night. Most suggestions involve dried fruit (too high in sugar), "health" bars (usually loaded with sugar, calories, and fat!) or nuts (great, but high in fat). So, I'm looking at bringing my protein powder supplement and trying to find a low sodium beef jerky. Fyi, I am on a gluten-free, sugar-free, and hypo-glycemic nutrition plan, which means I need to eat every 2-3 hours!- Pain in the butt for traveling, but I'm planning ahead.

As for exercise, the 7 minute workout is excellent and there are a couple of really great (and FREE!) workout apps for travelers:
    Road Warrior Fitness
    Gorilla Workouts

Hope this helps, and if you have any tips, please throw 'em my way!

Only eat what you have personally harvested or killed.
