weight training the day after insanity?

Today is the day I would normally hit the weightroom but now im a little concerned with the things I've been reading about not doing Hiit back to back with weights. Insanity is marketed as a Hiit though to me it seems more cardio. (I take insanity at my gym as a class not the DVDs..im not sure how different the two are.)
what would you say...go lift or take a rest day?

I'd say listen to your body! Do you feel like you could do weight training today? I don't listen to the "rules". I do the workouts my body wants, when I want to. I think keeping your body guessing as to what's coming next is important. I say, go for it if you feel like it!0

intensity is relative. If insanity feels like cardio to you then I see no problem with you doing weights afterwards while on the other hand... Insanity would definitely be HIIT for my 80 yr old grandmother
Better option for you...
do your weights first followed by insanity in the same workout for more fat loss (if you have time to do all that)0 -
lift more
insanity less…

Only you know whether or not you should take a rest day.
When I was doing the Insanity videos which were every day there was no way I'd have the energy to go to the gym and hit the weight as well.0 -

Sure, if her goal is to lift more. We don't know what the OP's goals are.
I personally love to do cardio, particularly running, so I do that 4 times a week in addition to my lifting. You might not particularly like cardio and that's fine too.0 -

Yeah im not about to stop insanity yet. Ill probably grow tired of it in a few months but for now I do love it! Im not the type who hates cardio at all. I just need to switch it up every so often.
I am sore this morning but by tonight may be a different story. I guess I'll just play it by ear.0 -

If you're feeling up to it then maybe go and do a light lifting session and then gauge how you feel tomorrow.
I did the videos and I was pretty spent. I had all intentions of hitting the gym in the morning to lift and using the Insanity as my daily cardio but that never happened. I was pretty exhausted and sore from it.0
