50 by 50 - SHAKING THINGS UP AND GETTING IT DONE

I'm a Canuk living in Alaska - I have 50lbs to lose by my 50th birthday in January 2015
I'M NO LONGER DIETING - just eating healthier and following the DASH eating plan, for life
Getting reaquainted with exercise - i'm using an inversion table, a weighted hula hoop and yoga ball - so far - and pilates stretching.
Overcoming emotional eating and learning to portion control. Stress plagued for years, I am back in Canada caring for my
elderly mother who has had numerous heart surgeries, strokes, heart attacks and amputations due to diabetes type 2 and cardiovascular disease - that I am hoping to avoid! I have mild type 2 and mild hypertension - the time is NOW.
My hubby is 'merican - he says i'm from Canadia - he is the love of my life - married and living in Alaska for 13 years.
I want to be healthy for me, for my sweetie, my fur-kids and my 25 yr old Congo African Gray parrot :-)
If you have any great exercise tips, healthy eating and recipe recommendations - please do share. I really want to stay motivated and GET-THIS-DONE and get fit for life.
