NSV @ Work

I work at a university and of course there is a gym for faculty, staff, and students to use and the cafeteria offers well balanced meals and lots of choices for all as well. The cafeteria website even talks about healthy living - exercising, balanced meals, calorie intake; it even has a caloric intake calculator to go with it all. What they didn't offer was nutritional information for their meals - a few of my coworkers and I expressed the need of such info to be offered. We understood that there were plenty of items offered which would be difficult but to the most part the main meal offered could have it.

Today I walked in to the student cafeteria - made my salad plate and when I walked toward the area of the main lunch meal I was so excited I even took pics - service size, caloric value, carbs, protein, sodium, total fat <-- all this info on a card in front of each item.

This to me is a complete NSV, I know it is a only a small part of helping others to make better choices but it is a part. We can educate them, hand them the tools, and then hope that they will be wanting to use such.
