I wanted to make the Thai Tom Yum (hot and sour) soup at home and came across the brand called Mama Sita's Sinigang sa sampalok mix. It's similar to Tom Yum soup but I would say a bit more sour. Has anyone used it before? I made 3 cups of soup with this Sinigang sa sampalok and just added to it about 1 cup of veggies (onion, spring onion, red and green bell peppers).
I am concerned with the sodium content of this package. When I entered the brand into MFP..it came up as Knorr Sinigang sa sampalok and the sodium was over 2,000. Maybe I measured the amount I used wrong but I was worried too much sodium and it's effects on my weight loss.
Any info regarding this type of soup and how it effects my south beach diet is appreciated! thanks in advance
