Those of you who rarely get sick, what do you feel it is that makes you successful at this? I find myself so worried about getting sick and bringing home crap to our family, that I find myself obsessing over it sometimes. I eat pretty healthy and so far have had a decent fall and winter, but I'm curious to know how you all get through cold/flu season. Vitamins, certain foods, cleanses, jucining, smoothies, supplements?

I rarely get sick, and I also rarely ever worry about getting sick. Yet, my friends who are always focused on NOT getting sick are the ones that seem to get sick more often! I don't know if that's a coincidence, but I have friends who are always washing their hands, using Purell, etc, and they are also always the first ones to get sick. Me, on the other hand, am never concerned about germs. I wash my hands after using the bathroom, and that's pretty much it. I think exposing myself to germs actually helps me stay well.
Also, at first sign of ANYTHING abnormal, I up my vitamin C.0 -

Thanks!! I agree, its better not to think about it. I barely thought about it before kids...now I think about it all the time, trying to keep them healthy. Ugh.0 -
I was never sick until I had kids. Then they went to school and it changed. I swear I got sick more often than them! Much better this year so far though (knock on wood). I wash my hands a lot (and have to use hand cream pretty much all Winter long but they are still very dry). I use nasal rinses to keep my nose clear (they really help a lot). If I start having a sore throat, I use one of those 'precold' medicines that you use at the first sign of a cold. My last cold only lasted 2 days, I was shocked.0
