Weight question

I lift weights and run twice a day burning a total of around 900 calories a day. How many calories should I intake when burning that much. I usually eat small snacks through out the day then eat a big dinner. Most of my calories come at night. I seemed to gain weight, but my pants fit the same and I feel the same I feel more fit actually. Is it possible to even gain weight from burning that many calories. Or is my body in starvation mode. Is it just keeping on to food longer which that created the gain. I just feel the same, pants fit he same. I feel more fit it is the weirdest thing.
